Nutritional Reset With My Cuisinart Food Processor

Business

Every year at some point I like to do a reset. It really depends on what the busiest time of year is for me. Sometimes it’s after the holidays and sometimes it’s after summer. Sometimes I do them twice a year depending on the situation, or if need be, even more. It really makes a huge difference in my life.

When I do this, I use smoothies as meal replacements for at least a month. They mainly consist mostly of puréed fruits and veggies and a plant based protein powder to keep me satiated. I end up feeling way better afterward. It’s really amazing.

A lot of people ask me why I don’t do a juice cleanse instead, but I prefer to have the fiber and all of the other benefits that come from eating whole fruits and veggies. Plus juice wouldn’t be enough to keep me full whatsoever and I’d end up eating a bunch of unhealthy foods anyway.

Initially this process was a real pain. I wasn’t happy with the consistency that I was getting with my blender. I’m definitely weird about texture. Additionally, I was having to make new batches about every 3 days or so, which was extremely annoying.

I was browsing blogs with smoothie tips when I came across a great idea that I’m surprised never popped into my head before: I could make larger batches of smoothies with a food processor. I couldn’t believe I hadn’t thought of that before. Better late than never I guess.

I didn’t have a food processor and I didn’t even know what to look for, so naturally I called my mom. She sent me a link to the KitchenWorksinc website. I decided to order the Cuisinart Custom 14 food processor. I couldn’t wait for it to arrive.

I make a lot of smoothies during this time. I do 5 different combinations so that I can switch it up a bit and not get bored. The only other things I eat while doing this is green salad with a little squeeze of lemon or lime and some zest.

My whole body feels brand new after I do this reset. I’m so thankful I realized I could do this with a food processor, otherwise I was definitely going to give up at some point. Instead, I have a great healthy ritual that I’m able to do regularly. It wouldn’t be this easy without my Cuisinart food processor.
